----> Bathroom Posters

If any of you get the Land of Nod catalog you know how crazy cute all of their stuff is.
If you don't, you can request one here - it's free!
Not only is it crazy cute, it's crazy expensive and I usually flip thru the pages lusting after everything and wishing I had a girl.  The paint colors, bedding, wall decor, storage - all so cute!

I especially loved these bathroom posters but when you're cheap and have Photoshop you can't bring yourself to pay $89 for something you can easily make.

EIGHTY-NINE DOLLARS?!
The posters on the website are 13"x20".  At Costco, it would cost $5.99/each so I went with the size just a bit smaller - 12"x18" - for $2.99/each.

Instead of putting these in frames, I found white foam board at Hobby Lobby and glued the posters onto it.  The foam board was only $1.99 and was large enough to do both.
 I used a yard stick, positioned the poster where I wanted it to be (leaving a small white border) and used a utility knife to cut it.

I applied the mod podge over one entire side of the foam with a foam brush.  I might have been a little too generous by the small wrinkles it left in the poster after I stuck it on there.  When I was finished I laid it under a heavy guitar case overnight hoping it would dry flatter - but it didn't seem to make any difference.  After seeing this, I tried Krylon Spray Adhesive for the second one and it worked a lot better and didn't leave wrinkles.  Get your hands on some of this stuff if you don't have it in your craft stash.  It's gold.

 Since my kids are still mostly just taking baths, their bathroom doesn't get very humid (oh wait, that's probably because they always use my bath) so I didn't apply a top coat once the posters were stuck to the foam board.  If your bathroom gets more traffic than this, I'd apply a top coat or put them in a frame to keep them nice.

I used these Command strips to hang the posters to the wall and they worked really well.  I'd never used these before but they're awesome.  My husband freaks out when he sees me walking thru the house with 1) a drill and screws or 2) a hammer and nails - so these are his new favorite thing ever.

And here they are hung up in the bathroom.
