----> Amazon Mom

I usually feel like I'm the last to know about a lot of things pertaining to the World Wide Web.  Tech savvy-ness is not my strong point so it's really not that surprising.  It's like somehow every one on the planet gets the memo about this amazing website, every one's talking about it, it's huge; and here I am clueless with a blank stare.

I felt that way when I found Pinterest and accused my friends of being stingy and not sharing the love - only to find out they hadn't heard of it either.
When a friend asked me if I got my diapers through Amazon Mom she got the classic blank stare.
Hmm...nope.  Just Costco diapers.  What the what is Amazon Mom?

It's the coolest thing ever, that's what.
Another little Internet gem.

(the following is taken off the website)

What Is Amazon Mom?

Amazon Mom is a free membership program aimed at helping parents in the prenatal through toddler years use Amazon to find all the products their family needs.

Despite the name, you don't need to be a mom to belong. Amazon Mom is open to anyone caring for a baby or young child, whether you're a mom, dad, grandparent, or caretaker. We just thought "Amazon Primary Caretaker" didn’t have the same ring to it.

Thanks for joining Amazon Mom. We're thrilled you're here!

Okay, I'm an Amazon Mom. Now What?

Now it's time to take advantage of your membership, to save time and money. Here are a few ways to make Amazon Mom work for you:

Spend $25 in the Baby store, extend your FREE shipping benefits
All Amazon Mom members qualify for three months of FREE Two-Day shipping with Amazon Prime. For every $25 you spend in the Baby Store, you can earn an extra month of free Prime shipping benefits--up to a year.

So far I've only ordered diapers - but let's talk about the perks.

- They're cheaper than Costco.  I get the Huggies size 5 and they are almost 3 cents/diaper cheaper than the Huggies at Costco.  Pennies are pennies and they add up too, ya know?!
- They come to your door.  In TWO days.  Shipped for free.
- With "Subscribe and Save" you get automatic shipments every month so you won't run out.  Raise your hand if you've found yourself at Walmart in the middle of the night because you forgot to pick up diapers and you only have one left.
- You get free prime shipping on other non-baby related Amazon purchases.  I just ordered a case for my iPhone off Amazon and it came in two days, free shipping.
- You can cancel anytime and there's no fee.

----> Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Cake

Does anyone else feel like they're melting?!  Oh, the heat!  It's putting a damper on my painting because the last thing I want to be doing is dripping sweat outside in a stuffy garage or in the baking sun trying to paint.  A nice air conditioned house is more my style right now.

If there's one thing summer brings other than the heat, it's LOTS of great food.

A couple weeks ago my sister in law, Kassey, pinned this most amazing looking cake from A Spicy Perspective that literally made my mouth water when I saw the picture.  You can just see how dense and moist the cake is and it took everything I had to not lick the computer screen.  Ok, maybe a bit overboard on that - but you get my drift.  I even had everything I needed except the Greek yogurt and lemon- which I sent the husband to the store to get.

[you almost licked the screen, didn't you?!]

As he's walking out the door:  "Ok, honey, I need 8 ounces of PLAIN GREEK YOGURT and one lemon.  The yogurt is in sort of a white and blue container and I don't know how big they are so you might need to get two."

"Ok, bye."

Thirty minutes later he's walking in the door and throws the Walmart bag on the counter where I find my one lemon and 6 ounces of BLUEBERRY GREEK YOGURT WITH GRANOLA ON TOP.

One of those "bless his heart" moments.
Love the man.

Anyway, I ended up eating the blueberry yogurt with granola for breakfast and made another run to Walmart.

I knew this was going to be my knockout dish at our Fourth of July gatherings and it was.
I made it for two separate occasions and it was so delicious.  I ended up photocopying the recipe for all of the girls in my family after our BBQ on the Fourth.
